SAI PROFESSIONAL KOBUDO, solid wrought iron, octagonal, pair.

Black, red or blue string grip or real wooden grip.

Handmade in Europe with long turning (not cast).

Treated with Black oxide coating.

Black oxide coating is a procedure used to provide corrosion resistance to iron parts and it is treated with oil afterwards to maximize corrosion resistance. One of its advantages over other coatings is its minimal buildup. This allow sai to produce a “ringing” sound after hitting each other. Another advantage is that there will be no chipping or flaking on paint, when Sai are used in bunkai and kumite.

Iron Sai should be treated with thin engine oil (like the oils used for guns or sewing machines) from time to time to extend corrosion resistance.

Different sizes available. The most common sizes are M (length = 47 cm) and L (length = 52 cm).

Each Sai weighs between 650 and 750 grams approximately.

I absolutely love this pair. I have always had the cheaper stuff you can get easily at most dojos or martial Art stores. This is the first real pair I have owned. They are so much easier to use and weight-balanced perfectly.
